About Me

I’m a Senior Data Scientist with a background in Physics and Computer Science. I use tools from Data Science, Machine Learning, and mathematical modeling to tackle complex problems — whether that’s driving product decisions through experimentation and causal inference, or modeling the spread of infectious diseases from mobile phone data. I have 11+ years of experience coding in Python and working with the Data Science tech stack.

I’m currently at Spotify, where I’ve spent 4+ years as a product data scientist in Core Experience, working across the full product lifecycle from foundational research and opportunity identification, to A/B test design and rollout decisions that shape the product roadmap.

Before Spotify, I spent 6 years as a researcher and data scientist at the Robert Koch Institute. I initiated and led the Covid-19 Mobility Project, heading a team of 5 scientists with EUR 2M annual funding that used mobile phone data to analyze the pandemic response in Germany. My work has been published in scientific journals and informed pandemic policy by the German Ministry of Health and government stakeholders.

I hold a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Humboldt University Berlin, with a thesis on human mobility and epidemic spreading. This gives me strong foundations in statistical modeling, causal reasoning, and working with complex, large-scale datasets.
